The images of mass and community revivals are spectacular, to say the least. Between the years of 1880 to the 1930′s this was a common practice and anticipated event. Entire congregations and even communities would come to celebrate what God was doing in their towns.
Revival is something we at The Summit, and many others in our area, have been praying for since we began. Since we have been praying for this I have discovered that even the word revival conjures up many different images and thoughts for different people. But I am not expecting a resurgence of the “Old Days.” After all, God is in the business of making all things “NEW.” But, I do know that God has promised a new pouring out of His Spirit in the last days and we will see a miraculous things and witness a great drawing and moving of people toward God once again.
As we end our 21 Day Corporate Fast, Prayer & Personal Devotion emphasis this weekend, I will be sharing God’s secrets to Abundance! For many, we equate Abundance with money. But it is so much more than that. I will talk about money this weekend and exactly what Abundance is, but I will say “Breaking through to Abundance” is also experiencing personal and corporate Revival. MAKE SURE YOU CLICK ON THIS LINK AND READ THE REST! REVIVAL IS STARTING! SEE HOW!Obviously Revival can be measured by people turning back to God and re-surrendering all to Jesus Christ or finally surrendering all to Him. But it is also measured by people meeting Jesus for the first-time, by God’s favor and grace going before them and God’s call being renewed among a people or a nation as the church experiences salvation after salvation.
Acts 2:47 (NASB)
47 praising God and having favor with all the people. And the Lord was adding to their number day by day those who were being saved.
This is what we have been praying for. We know God honors the prayers of His people and we know God is moving among our community again!
Wednesday night after a New Membership Class Joseph said he wanted to speak with me. We went to my office and Joseph said, “I would very much like to be born-again.” Woo Hoo! Joseph is originally from Cameroon, Africa and his family was very attached to the Catholic church. Wednesday night Joseph stepped out of hell and into the arms of Jesus and is now a fully devoted Christ-follower!
Thursday night Summit Revolution celebrated its second week with their Thursday Night Student worship experience. This is The Summit’s Jr. & Sr. High School ministry. In only our second week we had 20 students coming out to worship “teen style” and receive God word. These kids are already moving under the hand of God with several responding and praying at the altar for strength in a very tough world. During that “decision time” Mason, a young man who is new to the group, said he needed his empty heart to be filled with hope. Mason asked Jesus into his heart and also stepped out of the depths of hell and into the hands of God! Go God!
We believe God will continue this move! We believe our 40 days of testing is over and God’s Spirit is being poured out. We believe we are breaking through to Abundance!
Whatever it takes, don’t miss this Sunday @ The Summit and bring a friend with you!
