There’s More!
“More what?” That must have been your first thought when you saw The Summit’s new billboard on Chapman Highway “More money? More opportunity? More work? Maybe it’s more happiness? More time? I sure could use more time. No…I know, I know…More Peace. Look at that beautiful sunset. The warmth on the person’s face. The majestic Appalachian Mountains. Yes, that must be it. More tranquility and more peace.”
The fact is, many of us walk through life with the very thought, that “there has to be more to life than this” and if you are one of the masses who feel this way…you couldn’t be more right. Why? I believe it’s because our goals, dreams and wants in life leave us feeling unfulfilled and empty. We pursue, many times with a relentless passion, more stuff in life and when we finally achieve it all we are left with the feeling “that there must be more.” Life can be tiring. It can also be brutal. We can feel defeated, let down, betrayed, discouraged, depressed and hopeless. When we lose our job, our money, our marriage, our kids, our friends and most of all…our happiness, we are left with the deep and burdening sense that there must be something more. Summit Base Camps
We had an awesome launch to our small group impact at The Summit on Saturday night. We had our 1st Base Camp F.I.R.E (Finding Intimate Relationships to Experience) to introduce our Base Camp small groups. Light My Fire BBQ out of Murfreesboro, TN catered some mouth watering pulled pork and Briskette that would make you punch yourself in the face.
The dinner table is the thesis of our small groups. We believe when we can get together around the table we can open-up, engage each other and heal, grow and celebrate life to its fullest. 94 people were in attendance as we introduced our Base Camps and highlighted the 8 different small groups they could sign-up for. Our very first small groups will meet Tuesday night with other small groups being available every night of the week.
Be Blessed!

This weekend @ The Summit!
We are having such an incredible journey at The Summit. It is so much fun watching God work in the lives of our people and seeing their hearts, their past and their homes repaired. Go God!
This past weekend we had 22 first-time guest at The Summit and we are expecting so many more in the coming weeks. We are finishing our “Living Past the Past – On Purpose” series this week and it should be an insane time of renewed hope and renewed dreams. I believe that many people have found some healing through this series of conversations and learning as we have discovered how God views our need for releasing the past. Read the rest of this entry »
Forgiveness-Paper Wads-Baptisms-UNLEASH
Ecclesiastes 3 proclaims a time and a season for every experience in life and right we are experiencing such a season of healing, growth and favor at The Summit.
Yesterday was just an incredible day. The worship was off the charts (even though we did 1/3 of the set) as Scott and his team has stepped up the intensity and the heart we put into worship. We continued our conversations about Living Past the Past by focusing on how to Forgive to Live (Finding the Power to Move Forward). To say that the Holy Spirit was moving in the hearts and minds of those present is really the understatement of the day. We saw healing and a release that brought new hope to all who were present. We ended the experience with a time of writing down the events and/or hurts that have been the chains in our lives. We then rolled those in a ball of paper and threw them at the stage, which we had committed as an alter of release to God. It was incredible to watch those paper wads start flying to the front of the church as everyone decided to release the bitterness that had beat them down for so long. Read the rest of this entry »
Forgive to Live – Moving Forward
This week @ The Summit we will have a conversation about how to “Forgive to Live”. It is the second in our “Living Past the Past” series.
Last week we laughed a lot at ourselves but also took a serious look at our past and at some of things we are hiding or have swept away in our closets and how to let God clean that junk up in our lives.
Come on out Sunday @ 10am, invite a friend and be ready to move forward!
Be Happy!

First Post of 2009, New Stones Turned Over
Wow! 2008 was unbelievable! I can’t wait for 2009!
With a new year, of course, there are new resolutions. Mine is to turn over the stones of apathy, complacency and procrastination. I’ve realized you can be all of these and still be very busy. That’s right. You don’t have to be inactive to be complacent. You can be very busy and yet not very productive. There fore I am starting the year off to keep this blog updated regularly.
Here are a couple pics from our Christmas Eve Experience @ The Summit. It was an incredible night. Read the rest of this entry »
