Why Should I Be A Part of The Summit?
“Don’t be misled: No one makes a fool of God. What a person plants, he will harvest. The person who plants selfishness, ignoring the needs of others—ignoring God!—harvests a crop of weeds. All he’ll have to show for his life is weeds! But the one who plants in response to God, letting God’s Spirit do the growth work in him, harvests a crop of real life, eternal life.
So let’s not allow ourselves to get fatigued doing good. At the right time we will harvest a good crop if we don’t give up, or quit. Right now, therefore, every time we get the chance, let us work for the benefit of all, starting with the people closest to us in the community of faith” (Galatians 6:7-10, The Message).
It is estimated that 85% of the community in and around Seymour do not attend a local church and/or have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. No doubt, there is a good segment of that percentage that used to be a part of a local church. Maybe they were a vibrant part, using their gifts and passions to help people and encourage them in their journey through life.
But somewhere in their own journey, they got hurt. Maybe they were betrayed, stabbed in the back, neglected, unappreciated or just let down. Whatever the reason or excuse they “weary in well doing” and just quit serving, quit church and maybe even quit God.
Now, The Summit is NOT trying to re-create church but we are attempting to help people change the way they feel about or perceive church. At least those who have negative feelings and perceptions. We want to enable, equip and encourage people to use their gifts and passions to find peace in happiness in their relationships with God. We want to serve together, as a team, so that we don’t give-up hope. So we don’t quit. So we can find joy and happiness again.
Why should you be a part of The Summit?
So you can get a fresh start.
So you can fulfill your purpose and destiny in life.
So you can help make history in Seymour.
So you can help change the perception of church, God and God’s people.
So you can make a difference in what you do with your life.
So you can be a part of a strong support group.
So you can make a difference in other people lives.
So you can be on the front lines and not the side lines.
And I am sure there are many other reason you should be a part of The Summit. Why don’t you come to the Saturday Night Sneak Peek this Saturday @ 6:30 PM, and maybe we can help answer a few of those questions.
Be Happy!
Bryan
