A Word to the Wise…Get over it!
Proverbs 10:12
“Hatred stirs up trouble,
but love forgives all wrongs.”
Whether it is the wagging of the tongue or the perpetual need to bring up bygones, the stirring of trouble only leads to more anger, hatred and a troubled soul.
When hate is the driving force behind any conversation, it is hard to talk about anything other than trouble. No good thing can come out of discussing the follies of someone else, reliving the misdeeds of another’s past encounter or spewing disdain from our pierced lips as we relive the hurt that was or was not unjustly cast upon us.
Allowing love to forgive all wrongs? That takes surrender! A surrender of all that we want to have authority over and laying it at the feet of our attackers and our enemies. It is a surrender of ownership as we choose to surrender the “debt of wrongs”.
“When you are angry, do not sin, and be sure to stop being angry before the end of the day. Do not give the devil a way to defeat you…When you talk, do not say harmful things, but say what people need—words that will help others become stronger. Then what you say will do good to those who listen to you. And do not make the Holy Spirit sad. The Spirit is God’s proof that you belong to him. God gave you the Spirit to show that God will make you free when the final day comes. Do not be bitter or angry or mad. Never shout angrily or say things to hurt others. Never do anything evil. Be kind and loving to each other, and forgive each other just as God forgave you in Christ (Ephesians 4:26-27; 29-32, NCV).
Be Happy!
