Time for a Blog Break
I have given a lot of thought to the future of this blog. There are times I just need to say things and share them with others and there are other times that I am either too busy to write or I just can’t think of anything to say.
Nonetheless, since being introduced to the blogosphere I have seen and learned many things. I have these thoughts on a blog:
-
Blogs can be used to keep others informed and encouraged
-
Blogs can be an on-line journal (If you don’t mind the world reading your journal)
-
Blogs can be used for political, religious or personal opinions.
-
Blogs can be used for teaching and leadership
-
Blogs can be used to make others believe you are something you are not
-
Or they can just be a place to ramble
I feel lately that mine has become a ramble. So…for now I am suspending my activity and entries. We are very busy trying to start a church in east-Tennessee; contacting churches and individuals for support; recruiting a staff and a launch team.
My plans are to be back in April with a renewed focus for this blog to be on Forgiveness and personal and marital renewal. Thank you to all of our readers and for your comments and feedback. I will leave this blog up so the links will be available and again I will be back in a month or so. For now…have a good journey and Abandon the Past, Accept the Present and Anticipate the Future!

Proposal for Launch
I finally finished my “Proposal for Launching The Summit Church” booklet. This is a prospectus of sorts to put in front of potential donors and financial partners as we prepare for this new church plant. A new sponsoring church is on the horizon! Read the rest of this entry »

D’ya know what’s more funner?
With the “huge” snow event we had in middle-Tennessee this morning, Brandon’s school was cancelled. Brandon and I took the chance to hang-out and we went to Chick-fil-A to have some breakfast and play. As we sat there the snow started coming down a little more and Brandon looked at me and said, “Snow is fun. But, d’ya know what’s more funner? Catching snow flakes with your tongue!”
He’s right! I love his perspective on life and I am hanging-on to every ounce of his innocence. So, we played, we laughed and it was more funner than anything else I will do today!
Be Happy!

A Word to the Wise…Get over it!
Proverbs 10:12
“Hatred stirs up trouble,
but love forgives all wrongs.”
Whether it is the wagging of the tongue or the perpetual need to bring up bygones, the stirring of trouble only leads to more anger, hatred and a troubled soul. Read the rest of this entry »
Craigslist and Worship Pastors
Ok…I have been a regular checker-outer of Craigslist since 2006 when the “red paper clip” story put it in the headlines. I have gotten free stuff, garden stuff, car stuff, job stuff and even sold stuff. It is a good community policed, FREE classifieds, website. I am sure when Craig Newmark started the site, he had no idea what was going to happen. He can thank Kyle McDonald (see “red paper clip”) for much of its success, correction…it’s much more speedy success. I am sure it would have been successfull either way. I Love it!
As we prepare to launch a new church in Seymour, Tennessee, I have had a vision that God would bring together a pastoral team to accomplish this great vision. I have shared with the few folks I know, I have posted it on this blog and our small Facebook group, all to no avail. Read the rest of this entry »
A Word to the Wise…Who you are does matter
Psalm 139:14
“I will give thanks to You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.”
Who God made us…is no accident, what we do with how He made us can be the difference.
Proverbs 11:30
“A good person gives life to others; the wise person teaches others how to live.”

A Word to the Wise…What you say DOES matter
I will share some nuggets of wisdom which Solomon shared with us in the book of Proverbs. God made Solomon the wisest man who ever lived and he penned many of those thoughts in Proverbs. So as I learn, I will share. Today we look at how kind words can change a person’s life… Read the rest of this entry »
Expectant Faith
This is a re-post from one I did in May. I originally called it Busy Life or Blessed Life? It spoke to me as I have been studying Faith, I pray it speaks to you!
I was thinking about faith this morning…what is it, really? In my opinion, faith isn’t just a religious thing. You can pretty much have faith in anything. People put their faith in cars, homes, their abilities, careers, other people and even a simple thing like a chair. But faith in God has to be something more. Is it the belief and confidence that He exists? That God is what the Bible says He is? or is it even more? Read the rest of this entry »
