Whose List Are You On?
I have found in our lives that we often keep lists. Lists help us to keep track of things, they enable us to organize our lives, keep up with clients or even to develop statistics. Lists can be very helpful. But they can also be a curse.
We tend to keep a mental list of hurts or offences people have commited against us. We let that list build-up and we refer back to it whenever it’s needed. But this destructive habit will only build a sludge of bitterness deep within our souls and is rarely, if ever, constructive or helpful in our lives.
God said, “But I, yes I, am the one who takes care of your sins —that’s what I do. I don’t keep a list of your sins (Isaiah 43:25 The Message). Unlike the movies or the religeous myths, God does not sit on a throne running down a list of everything we have done in our lives. Ephesians 4:32 says, “Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you (NIV).
Just as God did for us, throw away the list. Let it go. Turn it over to God and you will see more blessings open-up in your life than ever before.
Be forgiven!
